This light weight, compact, dual strain wave gear (SWG) mount delivers an incredibly portable astronomy experience. Weighing in at just 6.2 lb. with a payload of 18.7 lb. without a counterweight or up to 26 lb. with a counterweight, the HAE18C is destined to be a compelling choice for astronomers on the go (counterweight shaft and counterweight not included); which comes as no surprise given iOptron's multi-decade experience creating compact precision mounts with unheard of payload to weight ratios.

Utilising state of the art strain wave gear technology on both the RA and DEC axis, the HAE18C delivers the tracking accuracy users have come to expect from iOptron mounts.

With sleek features like an all black anodised, CNC machined, metal body and stationary inputs for power and USB, the HAE18C is not only appealing to the eye, it's a rugged platform that will perform at the highest level for many years. Unique features include an electronic friction brake that locks the mount when power cuts out, upgradable firmware, built-in WI-Fi, and zero position locator.

The HAE18C mount can be controlled by a computer, either via ASCOM/ iOptron Commander for Windows PCs, third party INDI drivers for MacOS, Raspberry Pi, or Linux devices — or through a smartphone/ tablet via the iOptron Commander Lite app or SkySafari.
